Fried Green Beans

This is a family favorite and one way I get my no veggie kids to eat their veggies.  I serve this with my Smoky Ranch Dressing and it's a hit.  You can do this with broccoli too.  So yummy!!  If you have an electric fryer, it makes things so much easier!!

How to make Chicken Fingers and Green Bean Fries

Ingredients:

  • 1/2 c Country Dijon Mustard
  • 1/4 c honey
  • 2 tsp Tabasco (or Cholula)
  • 1 1/2 tsp light soy sauce
  • 1 pinch dry mustard
  • 4 peanut oil, for frying
  • 2 large egg whites
  • 1 1/2 c all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 c club soda
  • 1 lbs green beans, ends trimmed
  • McCormack's Mediterranean Spiced Sea Salt

Directions:
  1. In a medium saucepan over low heat, whisk first 5 ingredients until warmed. Transfer sauce to a small bowl; let cool.
  2. In a medium Dutch oven fitted with a thermometer over medium-high heat, heat oil to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, whisk egg whites to soft peaks. Whisk in flour and club soda.
  3. Working in batches, dip beans in batter, then lower into oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels; sprinkle with salt. Serve with smokey ranch.
